考研英语翻译常用三种翻译技法――增译法

所谓增词译法，就是在原文的基础上添加必要的单词，词组，分句或完整句，从而使得译文在语法，语言形式上符合译文习惯和在文化背景，词语联想方面与原文一致起来，使得译文与原文在内容，形式和精神等三方面都对等起来。

1.After the football match, hes got an important meeting.

在观看足球比赛之后，他有一个重要会议要去参加。(增加动词)

2.He dismissed the meeting without a closing speech.

他没有致闭幕词就宣布结束会议。(增加动词)

3.Reading makes a full man;conference a ready man;writing an exact man.

读书使人充实，讨论使人机智，写作使人准确。(增加动词)

4.Basically, the theory proposed, among other things, that the maximum speed possible in the universe is that of light;...

就其基本内容而言，这一学说提出的论点包括：光速是宇宙中最快的速度;......(增加修饰语，以示强调)

5.Ideally, one day, researchers will know enough about the genesis of earthquakes.

最理想的情况是，有朝一日研究人员能够足够了解地震的成因。(增加修饰语，以示强调)

6.他喜欢指出别人的缺点，但用意是好的。

He likes to point out other peoples shortcomings, but he means well.(增加主语)

7.你越讲空洞的大道理，人家越感到讨厌。

The more you elaborate on empty theories, the more people feel disgusted with them.(增加宾语)

8.这个小男孩饭前都洗手，然后用餐巾纸擦干。

This little boy always washes his hands before meals and then dries them with napkins.(增加物主代词，连接词和宾语)

9.Better be wise by the defeat of others than by your own.

从别人的失败中吸取教训比从自己的失败中吸取教训更好。(增补原文比较句中的省略部分)

10.At the time of Kennedys assassination, Kissinger felt that a second term would have led either to greatness or to disaster.

肯尼迪遇刺时，基辛格认为，如果肯尼迪再任一届总统的话，大概不是立大功，就是闯大祸。(增补原文含蓄条件句中的省略部分)
