考研英语常见词汇――熟词僻意1

在以A开头的单词中，有些单词看起来很难很长，很像是只考基础词义的核心词汇但是它们却是具有生僻含义的，并且也在考研真题中屡屡出现，下面我们重点讲这几个单词：

1. approach：

熟意：接近，靠近。

僻意：方法。

例句：Neither is there any systematic approach or integrated program. 既没有系统的方法也没有完整的计划。(1987 翻译)

As one might expect, the two approaches are very different from each other. 正如期待的那样这两种方法大相径庭。(1990 翻译)

The prime difference between innovation and others is one of approach. 创新和其他首要的不同点之一就是方法不同。(1993 text 5)

2. assemble：

熟意：组装，装配。

僻意：集合，集会。

4. anchor

熟意：锚

僻意：使固定，新闻主持人。

例句：Fast-food eaters, news anchors, text messengers, are all smiling, smiling, smiling.快餐食用者、新闻主持人、发短信的人，都在微笑、微笑、微笑。(2006 text 4)

Hot spots, anchored in the deeper layers of the earth, provide the measuring instruments needed to resolve the question. 扎根于较深的地层中的热点为解决这些问题提供了必要的测量方式。(1998 text 5)

5. abide

熟意：忍受

僻意：遵守 (abide by)

例句：The company, a major energy supplier in New England, provoked justified outrage in Vermont last week when it announced it was reneging on a longstanding commitment to abide by the strict nuclear regulations. 当上周新英格兰地区的主要能源供应公司宣布它将放弃遵守严格的核安全法规的长期承诺时，此公司在佛蒙特地区激起了民众无可厚非的愤怒。(2012 text 2)
